Lizzie Clark is a Kent-based artist renowned for her free use of paint to create artworks that are both powerful and serene. Her pieces seamlessly balance boldness with a quiet, meditative quality, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the subtle interplay of form and emotion. Drawing from her own transformational experiences in therapy, her paintings emerge from an inner dialogue, expressed through her lifelong fascination with florals—capturing their shapes, colours, and translucency. Her work is a dialogue between herself and the painting, a process that feels like a flowing conversation, guided by intuition and a deep connection to her inner self. Drawing on the influences of impressionism, her style is characterised by playful brushwork and a spiritual sensibility.
Lizzie’s artistic journey began at Winchester School of Art in 2005, where she discovered a passion for hand-painted silks and mark-making. She later spent 20 years working in printed fashion, in New York and then notably at Alexander McQueen, before founding her own vintage textile label, which was featured in Selfridges.
